The Macallan Fine Oak single malt whisky has been triple matured, for a period of 10 years, in a unique, complex combination of exceptional oak casks.
Once distilled the first stage of this whisky's journey is a short period of maturation in European second fill sherry oak casks which help to impart a rich character with hints of dried fruits, spices and chocolate orange.
The whisky is then transferred to American second fill sherry oak casks to help add delicate hints of citrus lemon, coconut and a toffee-like sweetness.
The final maturation period is in ex-bourbon American oak casks which help to deliver floral aromas and sweet notes of vanilla and fresh fruits.
This unique triple cask combination delivers a rather extraordinarily smooth but delicate complex Single Malt Speyside whisky.
