The Balvenie Doublewood is a 12 year old single malt whisky that takes its distinctive character from being matured in two different wood types. The first period of maturation is a traditional oak whisky cask, it is then transferred to a first fill European oak sherry cask.
Each wood gives the whisky different qualities, the traditional casks will soften and add character to the whisky, whilst the second sherry wood brings depth and fullness of flavour.
